Whipping Boy - When We Were Young
There are some truly excellent bits in this video, spoilt only by one glaring inconsistency. How old are the old people in this vid? I'm wagering there are few younger than 70. So how come they're talking of a time when "Starsky & Hutch gave good TV" while dressed as a cross between T-Rex and the Bay City Rollers? The oldies would have been well into their 40s by this point, so any reference to drinking Pernod & dry cider and mentions of rubber johnnies and poems seems, quite frankly, optimistic. Maybe it was a hangover from the free love period of the 60s - I don't know, I wasn't alive.
Still, at one point someone stage dives into the mosh pit, and the tune is a beautifully rendered list of youthful exertions. How they never made it bigger is beyond me. What might have been...
