James Yuill - No Pins Allowed
There's such a great of fusion of sound going on here - Bright Eyes meets Chemical Brothers - but James Yuill's industry-bestowed label of "foltronic" artist irks me somewhat, so we'll skip over that and just say this track sums up for me what he does so well, however that needs to be defined.
This video must've taken ages to shoot, being made up of lots of single shots all edited together. Clever. Bet he was glad to get that face paint off at the end of it. I don't think the video's as creepy as it was perhaps intended to be though, probably because of the retro front room setting; I can imagine that once it was all over the next thing to be heard was his Nan shouting "James, what would you like for tea dear?".
