Dark Captain Light Captain - Jealous Enemies
Dark Captain Light Captain, like some sort of musical good cop bad cop, fuse modern psychedelia and folk to stir up a powerful contrast of confession-inducing emotions... or simply to create a gorgeous sound if you think I'm taking that analogy a bit too far.
As far as I can see DCLC have so far managed to escape being burdened with any needless and naff genre labels, but I reckon anyone having a go would find it pretty futile pigeonholing these guys: in this track the hushed vocal is at the same time pretty punchy and happily harmonises alongside the melodiously insistent guitar.
