Nouvelle Vague - Friday Night, Saturday Morning


You've got to give them credit - their name does exactly what it says on the tin. They play new wave ('Nouvelle Vague') tunes in a bossa nova ('Nouvelle Vague') style. It's almost like they came up with the idea before they did the tunes.

For this one, they've rendered almost unrecognisable one of the Specials' best tunes and made it even better. There's now something sultry and sexy about chip shops that do really nice pies, and standing in someone else's spew. Whenever people have that debate about the sexiest language - English/French/Italian - they're ignoring the fact that French and Italian people sound sexy whatever they're saying.

Oh, and the vid, well it's unofficial and it doesn't ruin it, but that's not the reason I've posted this today.
