Ooberman - Running Girl
Ooberman lucked out a bit on this one. Their videos, in general, were pretty damn awful, so they got around it for this single by not making one at all. Instead:
"A Bulgarian friend of James' lent him his brother's wedding video from back home, complete with shooting peasants and blatantly sad bride. James watched the video at home while listening to the single, and was suddenly hit by the connection of the lyrics and the visuals; like strange window on someone's experience in an alien country."
Just about sums it up. They were massively underrated, Ooberman. Beautiful melodies and often poignant lyrics, they never made it into the mainstream. They were probably too pretty; this town aint big enough for two Belle & Sebastians. And this isn't even their best song - Shorely Walls is, but, as I said, the video's awful and pretty much ruins it. So be left morose by this instead.
