Camera Obscura - Lunar Sea
Another non-video, I'm afraid, though this one does at least attempt to reflect the song. See what they did there?
There are just two chords in this song, and just one chord pattern. In that respect, even Status Quo would get bored before the end. But it doesn't matter. The prettiness (sorry, there's no other word for it) of this song really makes a mockery of any necessity for adventure. The bloke rarely sings on Camera Obscura songs, so I don't know why they wheeled him out for this particular one, but it certainly bloody works. Doubling it up with one an octave higher just lends it that ethereal edge.
I could go on an on about why this song is great, but I won't. Take a listen to the album this comes off, 'Underachievers Please Try Harder', and it's like the light at the end of the tunnel. The oasis in the desert. The crock of gold in a stream. All together now, "put the finest words to the greatest tune..."
